Set Nefru
Dahabiya

ABOUT
Upon the broad waters of the Nile, where history itself flows eternal, there was built, nearly ninety years past, a vessel of rare distinction—Set Nefru. Commissioned for a scion of the Egyptian royal family, she served with grace and dignity for decades, embodying the golden era of Nile cruising, when elegant dahabiyas bore their passengers in stately splendor along the ancient river.
In time, she passed into the hands of a famed raconteur of uncommon charm and a scholar of Egypt’s venerable past. It was under his stewardship that Set Nefru became more than a mere vessel; she was a gateway to legend. His boundless enthusiasm, his mastery of Egyptian history, and his own ineffable charisma transformed every journey into an odyssey of discovery.
Recently, this noble craft underwent two-year restoration, guided by one of Egypt’s foremost naval architects. A brigade of fifty master craftsmen labored with diligence and devotion, employing traditional and sustainable materials to honor her original grandeur. Where possible, the fittings of yesteryear were preserved, including an exquisite Art Deco mural, now restored to its former glory. In keeping with her heritage yet embracing the refinements of modern comfort, her bathrooms have been reappointed with gossamer-thin Carrara marble—light of weight, yet rich in luxury.
Set Nefru is available for private charter for up-to 8 guests.
